Concept Statement:

Due to Covid-19, everyone’s lives have stopped. It has been a struggle of adjusting to a new environment, hardships, and lifestyle. No one can do what used to be our normal everyday lives as there are precautions and safety hazards even walking outside our homes. The occasions and activities we used to look forward to may not be available to us for a very long time. One thing I miss so much is going out at night with friends in a social setting where strangers get along and all have fun with one another. These simple things are not a part of our lives at the moment. Finishing off the stressful week by dressing up, letting loose, and having fun seems like ages ago. As a lot of friends around me talk about how they miss going out and having fun looking at their old photos and videos that are now memories, I wanted to create a collection all based on a fantasy that once was our reality. I always think to myself, what would I be doing now if a global pandemic did not happen? I would do anything for the events I took for granted and cannot do anymore. Something as simple as a party seems like a fantasy these days. This collection illustrates the fantasy of one night where everyone dresses extravagant to make up for lost time and goes crazy and forgets about all the stressful times the past few months have given us.
